Events for RSE Fellows

Several of the RSE's events are exclusive to Fellows. There is a programme of events which recurs from year to year, as well as ad-hoc events specifically for Fellows.

Recurring Events

The Annual Statutory Meeting

The Annual Statutory Meeting is held annually in early October. The 2011 meeting took place on 3 October 2011

Fellows Reception

A Fellows Reception for Fellows, their partners and guests is normally held each year, with the venue alternating between the RSE and another location in Scotland. The 2011 event took place on 23 September 2011 at the National Museum of Scotland.

Royal Medals & James Clerk Maxwell Award Presentation

The 2011 Royal Medals were presented to Baroness Helena Kennedy of the Shaws QC and Professor S Desmond Smith OBE, FRS, FRSE, and the RSE/IEEE/Wolfson, James Clerk Maxwell Award to Professor Marcian Hoff on 12 August 2011.

A Triennial Dinner

A Triennial Dinner is normally held to mark the end of each Presidency.

Coffee Meetings

Coffee Meetings are held in the Fellows' Room on Tuesday mornings at 10.30am. Once a month, between October and March, the meeting takes the form of a discussion in the East Wellcome Room

Golf Challenge

Two golf challenges take place each year. The Stewart Cup and the Sector Group match.

New Fellows' Induction Day

A New Fellows' Induction Day is held annually, shortly after the election and New Fellows are encouraged to attend this to be formally admitted to the Society and sign the roll.
