Nominations should comprise of a copy of the paper and a formal statement from his/her supervisor providing (in the case of multi-author papers) an indication of the student's contribution and a brief statement of the relevance of the paper in its specialist context, but NOT a letter of praise for the paper.
Only one paper may be nominated for any one student, though there is no limit on the number of students nominated per institution. No student may be awarded the Prize on more than one occasion. Most of the research involved must normally have been carried while the nominee was still a postgrad student and the paper submitted no later than one year after award of the PhD.
