The RSE is frequently asked to comment on proposals prepared by Government departments, Committees of Inquiry, Parliamentary committees and other public bodies. 

The Society is able to draw upon a broad range of experts from amongst its Fellowship in responding to these invitations to provide written or oral evidence from an independent viewpoint.
