Parliamentary and Press Officer (£33,026 - 41,280)
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Parliamentary & Press Officer to take up a fulltime post working with the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) and the Royal Society of Chemistry’s (RSC) to promote the contributions both organisations can make to the work of the Scottish Parliament and others.

You will raise the RSE’s and RSC’s Parliamentary profile; deliver existing and new initiatives for public benefit; develop Parliamentary relationships with organisations which have similar interests; and be the RSE’s conduit with the press and media. You will have an excellent understanding of: how the Scottish Parliament operates; the wider Scottish and UK political scene; and dealing with the press and media. Employed by the RSE, you will also provide a service to RSC members in Scotland. The ability to use your initiative and develop new ideas, as well as build upon your already established Parliamentary networks, is essential.
