future of Scotland's social, economic and cultural well-being
underpins the Research Awards programme of the Royal
Society of Edinburgh. Each year more than £2M
is made available to exceptionally talented academics
and potential entrepreneurs through the RSE.
With support from the Scottish Government and a broad
range of private and charitable bodies, this highly
competitive scheme enables people with good ideas, across
a spectrum of disciplines, to research and develop their
work, for the good of Scotland and beyond.

BBSRC Enterprise Fellowships - closing date 1st October 2010.
The Royal Society of Edinburgh, with the support of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), is pleased to invite applications for Enterprise Fellowships with the objective of increasing exploitation of ideas with commercial potential from BBSRC supported research. | Cormack Postgraduate Prize and Cormack Small Astronomy Research Grant - closing date 4th October 2010 |
| The Robert Cormack Bequest Committee annually awards a Postgraduate Research Prize to recognise and reward the most outstanding postgraduate student contribution to astronomical research in Scotland. The Committee are also able to make small Research Grants to individuals or groups for Public Understanding of Science activities.
