Arts & Humanities Research Awards - 2009 closing date to be confirmed
The Royal Society of Edinburgh seeks to initiate a programme of research awards in the Arts and Humanities. As the first stage of a three year ‘development phase’ for this programme, the RSE will fund two Research Workshops in 2007-8 to promote collaborative research in the Arts and Humanities. The funds can be used for organising colloquia, seminars, conferences, workshops or inviting distinguished visiting scholars/practitioners to Scotland. Funds will be expected to cover costs of travel, administration and hosting of events, and the dissemination of the outcomes in an appropriate form. CRF European Visiting Research Fellowships - closing date 3 November 2008
This is a scheme supporting research in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences in Scotland which aims to establish a two-way flow of scholars between Scotland and Continental Europe. More Information on CRF Fellowships
Cormack Vacation Research Scholarships - 2009 closing date to be confirmed
In 1942 the Society received the estate of Mr Robert Cormack. The Society was directed to administer this Bequest for the purpose of promoting Astronomical Knowledge and Research in Scotland, as far as practicable. More Information on Cormack Scholarships
Henry Dryerre Scholarship - 2009 closing date to be confirmed
The Henry Dryerre Scholarship supports postgraduate research in medical or veterinary physiology and was awarded for the first time in 1991. More Information on Dryerre Scholarship
Lessells Scholarships - 2008 closing date now passed
These Scholarships arise from a bequest from the late Professor John Moyes Lessells, an eminent mechanical engineer who emigrated to the United States of America in 1920. The Scholarships are for Honours Graduates in all forms of Engineering from Scottish Universities, who wish to study some aspect of their profession outwith the UK. More Information on Lessells Scholarships
Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland Fellowships and Studentships - 2009 closing date to be confirmed

Scottish Government Fellowships - 2009 closing date to be confirmed

Scottish Government Science Fellowships for Teachers 
Conceived and co-ordinated by The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) and funded by the Scottish Government’s Transport, Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Department.  This scheme is intended to enhance the transfer of ideas from commercial, industrial and research organisations into the education system, benefiting both schools and individual teachers.  These fellowships are not currently available.
