            <title>Robert Cormack Bequest - Call for Nominations for Postgraduate Prize in Astronomical Research and Small Astronomy Research Grant. Closing date 9 October 2009</title>
            <description>The Robert Cormack Bequest Committee annually awards a Postgraduate Research Prize to recognise and reward the most outstanding postgraduate student contribution to astronomical research in Scotland. The Prize "will be awarded for the best astronomical research paper submitted for publication in the 12 months up to and including June in the year of award. 
			The Robert Cormack Bequest Committee is able to make small Research Grants to individuals or groups for Public Understanding of Science activities. This scheme is intended to help set up new projects, or to add new elements to existing ones, rather than to fund ongoing activities. A total of £1000 is available this year and it is most likely that this will be divided among a number of awards.

The Fellowships enable the holder to concentrate on developing the commercial potential of their research, whilst also receiving formal training in relevant business skills</description>

            <title>CRF European Visiting Research Fellowship.  Closing date 2 November 2009. </title>
            <description>This is a scheme supporting research in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, in Scotland which aims to establish a two-way flow of scholars between Scotland and Europe.

Four CRF European Visiting Research Fellowships will be awarded each year, normally two in each direction, and they will be for visits of between two and six months' duration. 
The Fellowships provides financial assistance, up to a maximum of £6,000, as a contribution towards the costs of travel and subsistence.</description>
